Outerwall to Donate for each Seahawks First Down Recorded at Home During 2014 NFL Playoffs

Commitment to community nonprofits builds on $91,744 already contributed during regular NFL season

BELLEVUE, Wash., Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Outerwall Inc. (Nasdaq: OUTR), together with its consumer lines of business – Redbox® entertainment, Coinstar® money services and ecoATM® electronics recycling – today announced that it will extend the company's charitable partnership with the Seattle Seahawks Spirit of 12 program through the 2014 NFL playoffs, further benefitting local community-based nonprofits.

As part of the partnership, Outerwall will continue its commitment to the Seahawks "Stats for Kids" program, which raises money for local charities based on the final statistics for each home game. For every Seahawks' first down gained at home during the NFL Playoffs, Outerwall will donate $512, up to $10,000 per playoff game, to be divided equally among the Spirit of 12 Partners. The donation amount of $512 represents the five nonprofit partners and the 12 signifies the Spirit of 12.

To date, Outerwall has donated $91,744 to the various partnering youth programs through the Seahawks "Stats for Kids" program.

"The partnership between Outerwall, the Seattle Seahawks and the Spirit of 12 Partners is a huge show of support for youth in the Puget Sound," said Matt Watrous, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Clubs Washington State Association. "Outerwall's investment will help put many youth on a pathway to success in school, life and the future!"

Additionally, Outerwall has expanded its involvement by encouraging 12s to take loose change to Coinstar kiosks and donate directly to the Seattle Seahawk Spirit of 12 Partners. Outerwall also sponsored the #KioskSelfie sweepstakes, an interactive social media campaign encouraging fans to take a selfie with a Redbox, Coinstar or ecoATM kiosk. Selected fans were awarded tickets to a Seahawks home game.

"The financial support that Outerwall provides Girl Scouts of Western Washington gives many girls the opportunities to have life-changing experiences at Girl Scout camps during the summer," said Amy Goodloe, Annual Fund Manager, Girl Scouts of Western Washington. "At camp, girls will have the chance to paddle, swim, hike, and make s'mores, many for the first time, with new life-long friends. Outerwall's support is helping change  the lives of many girls in Western Washington, and we thank them for their support."

The Spirit of 12 Partners for the 2014 NFL season are Boys & Girls Clubs Washington State Association, Camp Fire Snohomish, Girl Scouts of Western Washington, Treehouse and YMCA of Greater Seattle.

In the fall of 2004, the Seattle Seahawks Charitable Foundation unveiled the Spirit of 12 Partners program, a collaboration among Seattle youth service organizations, the Seahawks, CenturyLink and The Paul G.
